Nihou everybody! I finally found the time to post about my trip to Hong Kong. I went there for 10 days with a couple of friends to visit our mutual friend who studies in HK. It was my first time in Asia, so I was pretty excited to experience the Asian culture. I knew a couple of stories because my dad had visited this city twice. People say HK is a very Western city for Chinees standards, but in my opinion it is a very Asian city except for the influences of the British. What I really liked most of HK is that you can easily escape from all the hectic of the city and go to a place which is more quiet such as Stanley Beach.
We did a lot of different things in HK. We went for a hike around the coast of Sai Kung East which was very beautiful. At that moment, you totally forget that you’re in a city where millions of people live, a very big contrast. We also visited the tourist hotspots like the Ten Thousand Buddha Temple, Victoria Peak, Happy Valley and the Big Buddha. The nicest district to go for drinks and small boutiques are SoHo and Wan Chai on HK Island. When I was there, I almost thought I was in Europe because there are a lot of European people who visit these districts. In one brief summary: Hong Kong is an amazing city where you can do almost anything! It is also a perfect place for shopaholics! I flew back with a filled suitcase, not only filled with my new purchases but also filled with a lot of new impressions and memories!
